INDAK Manufacturing Corporation was formed in 1947 by brothers-in-law Jesse Cobb and John Soreng. With help from Soreng Products, a manufacturer of appliance controls and switches, INDAK began designing and building automotive switches. In the 1950′s high current blower switches became an INDAK specialty. INDAK also pioneered key switches for lawn tractors and are still the industry leader. In the 1980′s, INDAK began production of complete automotive climate control units, including blower switches, vacuum switches, decorating and backlighting.

Today, the INDAK Group has built a substantial customer base supplying Automotive, Outdoor Power and Electronic Manufacturer’s such as Ford, General Motors, Daimler Chrysler, Honda, Valeo, Visteon, Delphi, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Briggs & Stratton, John Deere, International, Polaris, Kohler and many others.

From the beginning, INDAK has been a design-driven company. While they do some contract assembly of mechanical and electronic products, the majority of their production is designed for specific applications in conjunction with their customers.
